Weightlifting belts are designed to compress your core and increase the pressure around your abdominals, reducing the stress on your lower back and giving you more stability when you’re moving heavy weights. Typically, weightlifting belts are utilised for compound movements like deadlifts, squats and clean-and-jerks—anything that requires core engagement throughout the exercise. A weightlifting belt is only needed when the weight starts getting heavy, or when you’re lifting at around a 7 RPE (rate of perceived exertion—how much effort you feel you’re putting in, out of 10) or higher.

 

Our weightlifting belts are available in leather, which is a thicker and stiffer lifting belt than most, meaning you can brace against it harder, or nylon, which is more flexible, but still offers good support for most lifts.
